I work with clients who seem to take blogging for granted, and I have to admit I'm also at one point. I first entered the blogging arena after my last child. I will come from maternity leave and have all sorts of feelings I need to get out. I'm not too thinking about linking or sharing with others it's more than I shed my guts and feelings. Blindly I hope that others will know they are not the only ones going through this but blogging is more therapeutic for me. But the strangest thing started to happen. I began to establish relationships with some women and create my own small community while being part of a larger community. That's great! But then I fell into the marketing tactics of the hype that was discussed how you can make money out of blogging while watching all these Mommy bloggers be part of the various campaigns and I wanted a slice of Pie that too. Seeing all this made me find out what I needed to do and Totally overlooked Business Blogging 101.
In my quest to make money I wanted to use the skills I've had that led me towards becoming a virtual assistant. I was able to secure some of the clients and do a bit of work here and there and so I thought this would be what I would do to get me out of my 9-5. Because now I'm so focused on how to grow my business I quit blogging and started investing in everything and anything that would allow my business to grow. The variety of programs was very helpful and didn't help me to get some business but I didn't get any exposure or flow of clients that I felt I needed. Amidst all this blogging falls to the side of the road, although all the programs share how blogging can position you as an expert in your field. I just don't have time (so I think) and blogging is more of a tool used to journal my mind than a business tool, so I don't think it's necessary.
Fast forward a few years later, I realized that even though I had made progress in my business, I didn't make any progress I wanted or needed to see. I found myself as a student mentor who beautifully teaches basic and basic including blogging. When I followed it, I didn't jump back to the blog right away as I knew I should have, but I would post something every now and then. Then out of nowhere ended up hitting me. I finally know why I should blog and why you should as well.
Why you should be blogging:
We are constantly focused on making money activities (or have to be focused on it) but blogging doesn't seem like money-making activities. It's not too often I write blog posts and products or services purchased after a certain blog post. And so being focused on making money blogging just doesn't fit into the routine every day. However, because I have matured not only in life but in my business mind I realize that in order to market and profit from online businesses you have to create a community and consistently deliver valuable content to your audience. Blogging makes this happen very easily. As you constantly provide valuable content people will start listening and following. They will like what you say, comments and now you have created your own community, just as I did when I first started blogging. After a community that allows you to reach out to your audience and very find out what they need. And if you do this on a regular basis you will be viewed as going to a person (or expert) for a particular subject. Isn't that what we want?
Remember this, when you submit your business card, flyer, or flyer program to someone if the information catches them, the first they'll do is go online and search for you. They want to know as much information about you as possible. They want to know why I should attend this program, is he really knowledgeable as it is said to think. If they go online and see very little information then you may have missed potential prospects that you can put through your channel. However, if they see that you are constantly giving interesting and interesting information on your topic then they will want to be a part of it as well. The Foundation for your business is blogging. Your article can reach more people than you know and because the content is yours you can take advantage of it in several ways. Shift your mind to thinking about blogging as a marketing tool. It's not just an online diary anymore; This is a tool that if used properly can position you in your industry as a go-to person for the subject.
